B&B: Trevor, the man, the mystery

WE got him at last! Brad Rosen and I have been keen to secure five-time NBL championship coach and Perth mentor Trevor Gleeson onto our weekly Brad&Boti podcast to find out what makes the man tick, his history in the game and to hear how he thinks and how he goes about it.

Well I'm delighted to report the wait is over, Trevor our guest on this week's podcast, out now and available by hitting this link.

As candid as you would expect, he talks about pressure, expectations, Wildcats basketball and starting out in the game in the Victorian town of Warrnambool.

You may be surprised by the range of influences he has had and the experiences he has enjoyed, or endured, from backpacking around the world to finding Dawn, the love of his life, in South Dakota.

We go on quite the ride, following his journey ultimately to Perth where, yes, he does have to deal with the eastern states perception "oh, anyone could coach that team."

Brad and I are clearly Gleeson fan boys, as regular listeners would know. We also understand that getting "buy in" from players and belief in "Wildcats basketball" and what it stands for is the craft of a master-coach.

But there is much more to Trevor, as we found out, as will you.

What does he think of players such as Damian Martin, James Ennis, Corey Williams, Rosell Ellis, Nick Kay and, of course, the incomparable Bryce Cotton?

And did he really confirm that Ennis dumped that All Star Five trophy into the drink at the Docklands wheh he missed on the MVP award?

There's all this and more as Brad and I sneak in a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty before we pull the pin and you can hear it all through Spotify, Apple Podcasts or here, click this link. Go on. You know you want to.
