Brad&Boti: Heading to the WNBL, NBL pointy end
TweetBRAD&BOTI: Brad Rosen and I are firing in this week's podcast with, perhaps, a surprise prediction for the WNBL's Final Four, an extended look at the NBL season suddenly tightening up, and a revisit across the life and times of the late, great Iceman, Darryl Pearce.
Brad and I also have changes to our NBL Top Six predictions after further dramas across the league.
Is Perth the form team of the NBL at the moment? And what are the chances of the Perth Lynx this week upsetting WNBL leader Bendigo in Bendigo?
It was a lucky escape from the WNBL's other regional Victorian competitor in Geelong for the Lynx so they will need to lift for the Spirit.
The United were coming off a sizzling comeback victory over Southside Flyers on the road, winning after trailing 11-31 during the second quarter!
So, after Bendigo, Perth and Townsville, which club will complete the Final Four?
In the past, we have left newbie Geelong and Canberra out of the conversation, suggesting Sydney, Southside, Adelaide are the most likely contenders. But injuries have cruelled Adelaide's finish, the Flyers also have lost too many guns to keep in the firing line and now the Caps have picked up a past league MVP and multiple-championship winner Abby Bishop for their run home.
It spells a very tight finish, and the same applies at NBL level where wins clubs were prepared to pencil in over Cairns and New Zealand have turned back into dogfights.
How ballsy was United coach Dean Vickerman in the last-shot win over New Zealand? Don't know what we mean? Tune in. Just hit this link and you're there!
How good was Tasmania in taking down Adelaide after trailing by seven inside the final minute of regulation?
Who is the leading candidate for the NBL's Best Sixth Man? Brad has a very strong view but we differ on our Play of the Round and also on our Players of the Round.
There's also a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty (Nicey?) to consider so don't delay. Go to your usual podcast suppliers such as Apple or Spotify. OR, just hit this link.
