Basketball SA still in the dark

IT has been so long since South Australia Metro's girls won an Australian Under-16 Championship that few can even recall it.

But they did just that on Saturday in Geelong, beating Queensland South 60-54 in the Gold Medal game.

It's been something like 15 years but here we are, more than 48 hours later and the Basketball SA website does not even reflect the great performance.

They're too busy having a think tank to work out what to call the SA State League after years of laboring under the ridiculous Central Australian Basketball League banner.

Hey BSA! Your girls won the Australian Under-16 Championship. Maybe it's time to do better than wishing them luck at the tournament or providing a link to the result?

Maybe have a chat about it tomorrow at morning tea break and possibly get a story up about it?

CONGRATULATIONS in the meantime to the Aussie Rollers who today won the men's wheelchair World Championship in South Korea.

The Rollers beat the USA 63-57 in the Final to make it back-to-back Championship successes.

Our Gold Medal winners are: Joshua Allison (Vic), Jannik Blair (Vic/University of Alabama), Adam Deans (Wollongong Rollerhawks), Justin Eveson (Be Active Perth Wheelcats), Michael Hartnett (Be Active Perth Wheelcats), Tristan Knowles (Vic), Bill Latham (RSL Queensland Spinning Bullets), Brad Ness (Red Dust Heelers Adelaide), Shaun Norris (Be Active Perth Wheelcats), Tom O’Neill-Thorne (RSL Queensland Spinning Bullets), Luke Pople (Wollongong Rollerhawks), Nick Taylor (Wollongong Rollerhawks).
