Bowen goin' to Lightning

ALL Kelly Bowen wanted was a chance and the 182cm swingman will get that at Adelaide Lightning.

The WNBL club’s third key signing – joining Leilani Mitchell and Mikaela Ruef for Tracy York’s inaugural 2015-16 campaign – has been tearing up the SEABL with Frankston and is ready to take the step up in responsibility.

After a stellar junior career, Bowen (pictured firing for Frankston) spent four West Coast Conference-championship-winning years at Gonzaga University before WNBL stints with Townsville and the Boomers.

Two of her Bulldogs teammates were drafted by the WNBA but Bowen opted to skip the try-out in favour of coming home.
