Brisbane Brutons?
TweetIT didn't take much for colleague Brayden Heslehurst to put the cat amid the pigeons last week with his fan frustrations so little has been revealed by the NBL on its proposed Brisbane team.
Since then, word has leaked out CJ Bruton has been appointed to the new Brisbane NBL franchise's coaching panel.
So while the NBL has not yet told the good folk of Brisbane just who will be owning the club - because it won't be anybody in or from Brisbane - I can tell you the following.
CJ is on the coaching panel.
Head coach or assistant?
That I don't know for sure but the word among players not contracted for next year is a certain six-time NBL championship winner has been ringing players and making inquiries as to their availability next season.
And no, it isn't David Stiff doing the calling.
And no, it isn't CJ calling on behalf of the Brisbane Spartans he will coach in the 2015 SEABL competition.
You can smell a whiff of Perth Wildcats about this, or perhaps Czar Nicholas the Marvellous in his soon-to-be-ousted capacity as NBL Chairman.
If that is the case, and it is what I hear, then forget Rob Beveridge as head coach. That won't happen.
With so much of the next TV deal hinging on having a team based in the Queensland capital, it now is abundantly clear why ex-CEO Fraser Neill remained so adamant and strident in his confidence it would happen.
The NBL HAS to have a team in Brisbane.
So take it from me, CJ is on the panel.
And I'm also hearing those keen to see the Bullets name retained and returned will be very happy campers.
