DeNesha to suit against SEQ

CANBERRA Capitals import DeNesha Stallworth will suit this week when the Caps go on the road for the Valentine's Day clash at Logan with SEQ.

It's been a harsh year for the Caps with coach Carrie Graf announcing her imminent retirement - er, anyone at BA? That's what "imminent" means...you know, coming up SOON - and with the club also celebrating Lauren Jackson's storied career when it hosts Perth tomorrow.

Stallworth started the year as one of SEQ's initial imports but was released to make way for Jordan Hooper.

Part of the original release agreement prohibited her from playing against the Stars in any future clashes with Canberra.

But Basketball Australia confirmed today that agreement has been rescinded, allowing the Capitals to put their best foot forward in what should be a huge day at Logan.

Stallworth (pictured above) is leading the WNBL's rebounding, averaging 12 caroms a game and has been scoring 15ppg.

Sunday's game is expected to draw a huge crowd with the local basketball community rallying around the club, saved a week ago by some astounding local and corporate support coordinated by BA.
