FLASHBACK 44: Just the Girls

*FLASHBACKS, my irregular "lucky dip" where I just reach into my drawers of old Australian basketball stuff and transcribe whatever I find for you.

POSTING a few old pictures last week brought quite the affirmative reaction so I'm planning to do it again this week and next.

This week it's "just the girls" and next week, "just the guys". Hope these bring back some good memories.

SWEET: Tassie's Karen Smith fires off a jumper against North's Leeanne Grantham, around 1990.

CHEESY! Canberra's Jenny Cheesman in full flight against Sturt's Kelly Butterfield at the ACC in about 1988.That's Rachel Tobin (Lightning physio) in the background.

GOLD: Tracey Browning lining up a FT with Nunawading.

HOGGY! Canberra Caps captain Cherie Hogg looking for avenues.

AUST.C'SHIPS: SA's Carol Andrew fires one over NSW's Karen Dalton.

SA LEAGUE: Adelaide's Virginia Jucius, with Norwood's Di McMahon in pursuit.

GAME OVER: Karin Maar is ready to shake hands but Coburg teammate Cheryl Chambers still wants that last foul called on North's Jan Stirling.

PHYSIO: Lightning physio Rachel Tobin, as a player at Sturt.

OPALS: Shelley Gorman uses Michele Timms' screen to get free of the USSR.

BROGUE KICK: Michelle Brogan with the hand-off.

GLAMOUR GIRLS: SA's Lyn Murtagh.

GLAMOUR GIRLS: Victoria's Karin Maar.

JUST GRAND: Michelle Cleary (Tigers) looks to bypass Lightning's Jae Kingi, WNBL 1995 GF

BACK WITH THE USSR: Sam Thornton fires up for the Opals

OLD RIVALRY: North's Marina Moffa driving against Nunawading at (Jo) Hill(crest) Stadium.

That will have to do us for today. Next week it's "Just the Guys" but there's a lot more of these waiting to be seen. Hope they refreshed your memories.
