Law comes down on Law but what about Deng?

PERTH Wildcats import Vic Law found guilty of head-butting Brisbane's Deng Deng, suspended for one game but reduced to a $1,000 fine for an early plea is fair enough. But how about a fine for Deng? Surely the NBL's Games Review Panel cannot condone the outright obvious flop he perpetrated to exaggerate Law's moment of ill discipline.

Not disputing for a second Law suffered a brain fade by moving his head toward Deng's face in a head-butt motion and deserved a penalty.

But the contact was minimal and nondescript at best.

Deng's delayed reaction, then tumble to the hardwood, followed by him pounding his fist into the floor, was among the most extreme examples of floppery, taken to a whole other level.

Is this what the NBL means by "Next Level" because by letting Deng off the hook it is effectively saying that it's OK to flop and exaggerate contact.

It's even OK to pretend you were hurt by something that did not actually happen! Frankly, that's worth $375 in penalties in my book. To ignore it is to condone it.

Considering a round ago 10 penalties of $375 were handed out for a variety of offences as diverse as engaging in a melee, to coming off the bench into a fracas, $1,00 also seemed a bit stiff for Vic's moment of lawlessness.

This just in. Apparently it alleges here that the bill for the NBL staff Christmas lunch was $3,750.
