MIDNIGHT on Australia’s east coast, 11.30pm tonight in SA/NT and 10pm in the west is when our Opals take on Serbia in their Olympic quarter-final.

Considering this is Serbia’s first Olympics for women’s basketball and its only wins were over China and Senegal to scrape into fourth in its pool, in a 1v4 quarter, the #1 – Australia – should be a warm favourite.

A win there for the Opals would put them into a semi final against the winner of the Spain-Turkey quarter-final.

The other quarters see USA against Japan, with Canada against France.
