NZ on TV and Damo isn't done

IN case you were wondering, Damian Martin's lower leg injury may not be as bad as first feared and you can see Oceania's Game 2s from New Zealand.

First things first. Damo, who hasn't had the greatest run of luck with injury, hurt his leg this week but said scans had provided much needed peace of mind.

"I was pretty devastated initially when I heard it pop but very happy to hear there isn't a major tear or anything, according to the ultrasound," the talented Perth Wildcats and Boomers guard said.

"I'm not 100 per cent out of the (Oceania) series. It's still quite sore right now but it's amazing what some rest can do and, fingers crossed, I'll pass a physical on Friday."

Martin said, in the meantime, he would be "laying low".

While the Nine Network is showing both the Opals-Tall Ferns and Boomers-Tall Blacks live on Saturday from Rod Laver Arena, it has not yet made a decision about either of the Game 2s from New Zealand.

If the Game 1s rate well, expect Nine to come to the party.

If not, those wanting to see the games live will have the option of the live stream at the FIBA website.

And finally, despite erroneous reports to the contrary, Liz Cambage's spot on the Opals team for the Rio Olympics is not in "jeopardy".

She wasn't selected for Oceania because she didn't attend the sessions where she would have been able to pass medical requirements, coming back, as she is, from a ruptured Achilles.

If she is fit and healthy, she would be among the first selected for Rio. Of course, first the Opals have to get past New Zealand.
