Sea of colour for opening nights

THE opening nights for NBL games this week will include a sea of home colour with the league joining forces with its clubs to produce local #Hardball T-shirts.

In Adelaide at Titanium Security Arena on Wednesday for example, 5,000 blue 36ers T-shirts with the league's #Hardball hashtag will be waiting for fans, draped across the venue's seating.

Yes, progressive clubs such as Perth have been "painting the town red" with their RedArmy T-shirts for years, as has Cairns with its fans emblazoned in orange.

LOOKING GOOD: Wildcats fans in red, at home. Great look for the NBL.

Now picture every home crowd looking as colourful as this and you can see what the NBL was going for as its showcases our product to TV viewers every night from Wednesday-to-Sunday on Fox and online.

Just another great step for the NBL.

The season tips off with:

NZ Breakers at 36ers on Wednesday

Thursday it is Illawarra at Cairns which, of course, additionally is interesting, the Hawks under new stewardship with coach Rob Beveridge, and the Taipans enjoying former Wollongong coach Gordie McLeod sitting alongside Aaron Fearne in their coaching staff.

Friday, Melbourne United are at Townsville, where they won the Loggins-Bruton Trophy just over a week ago.

Saturday Sydney is hosting Cairns and Adelaide has the Wildcats in town.

And Sunday, the Hawks fly into Melbourne and the Crocs are across the Tasman against New Zealand.
