Sixers sign Kenyon McNeail

ADELAIDE now is just one import away from completing its 2015-16 NBL roster after signing American combo-guard Kenyon McNeail.

The 36ers today revealed their latest signing, a 24-year-old, 185cm 3-point and playmaking specialist, who will join similar new faces Lucas Walker, Nathan Sobey, Matt Hodgson and a second import - a 196cm swingman wingman - in the rejuvenated team.

McNeail was the first player 36ers' coach Joey Wright drafted into his team at the Worldwide Invitational earlier this month in Las Vegas.

Clearly, he wanted to see McNeail close up and audition him as a potential NBL player.

"There' s nothing not to like about him," Wright said.

"He can shoot it, he is a leader, he is poised.

"If he was five inches taller, he'd be better ... but then he wouldn't be playing for me!"

IMPORT: McNeail leaping an extra five inches...

Wright said Daniel Carlin also had made a good impression and was under consideration for a squad position.

Meanwhile, Crocs coach Shawn Dennis has described Townsville's second import signing - Jordair Jett - as "a beast off the dribble and a very good defender".

Townsville had been keen on American swingman McKenzie Moore - Dennis even flew to New Zealand to watch the NZ NBL Final Four in which he was playing - but decided instead to opt for the flying Jett.

The 185cm 23-year-old averaged 13.9 points, 4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his last season NCAA season with St Louis and has been on Dennis' radar for some time.

HAVEN'T had a second United import update for a while - still hearing Ekene Ibekwe has the nod -but have heard a rumour one James Ennis has "just renegotiated his Miami NBA contract" which allows the Heat to cut him up to the eve of the season.

His agent allegedly has said he has a "back up deal in Australia" but I'm hearing he actually was Melbourne-bound to hire a team of frogmen to go diving for a now-coveted NBL All Star Five Trophy!

Good news. I think they found it.
