YES it's a hat-trick for the Apple Isle's "core" blimeys, the mighty Tasmania JackJumpers the story of Round 10, winning our NBL Team of the Week award for a third time and also for the second week in succession. From the moment Jack McVeigh let that 3-point attempt rip in Melbourne, the JJs had this wrapped up.

Inside the last minute and playing their first road game on the mainland, McVeigh's triple at 57.1 seconds on the clock, made Tasmania's buffer 87-83 against the defending champions, putting all the pressure on United.

The champs folded as the JackJumpers proved they're not flashes in the pan, winning their fourth straight game to enter the top four on a 6-6 win-loss record.

Starting the round at home against Sydney, Tassie was relentless, coach Scott Roth using a combination of players and strategies to keep the talent-laden Kings on the backfoot.

It's no coincidence since Will Magnay's form picked up, so too have the fortunes of the JackJumpers, that 77-70 win over Sydney a classic.

But to then hit Melbourne and stun the champs 94-85 probably surprised everyone not named Scott Roth.

He can take a lot of the credit because those (many) of us predicting maybe 4-5 wins for the season in a laudible debut, did not see this coming in our wildest imaginings.

This team's success is great for the organisation, great for Tasmanian basketball and great for the NBL

In Round 10, Tasmania was unchallenged and easily the Team of the Week.
