Wortho, Nate back to skin Taipans

UNITED co-captains Mark Worthington and new father Nate Tomlinson will be back in uniform for tonight's NBL clash with Cairns at Margaret Court Arena.

(Seriously now. Why would Tennis Australia call it "Arena" when naming the venue "Margaret Court" would so brilliantly have sufficed? Her name was made for this! ... But I digress.)

Both Melbourne stalwarts missed the Perth loss and Wortho (averaging 16ppg and 8.8rpg) will play despite his infected elbow still causing him grief.

“There’s a lot of pain in the elbow still but I’ll just remember I’m a country kid and we breed ’em a little tougher out there,” Worthington said.

“I can’t wait for the game.

"I wouldn’t miss the history of playing the first game at Margaret Court Arena.”

Cairns suffered its first loss last weekend when the NZ Breakers stalled their league-leading streak at six.

It had been a great week for the Taipans too with dual-B.O.T.I. Player of the Week Scottie Wilbekin winning Player of the Month honours for October and Aaron Fearne rightly feted as Coach of the Month.

That would have been the easiest monthly vote for a number of years.

If you live in Melbourne, tonight's game definitely is one for you to attend, United facing the NBL leader and having twice lost to it already.

This is a "must win" for the artists formerly known as Tigers ... and still hanging on to that name.

To celebrate the historic first match at Margaret Court - a venue many already are branding as the best in the country for basketball - United is offering Melbourne fans a flat rate of $10 for the best reserved seats in the house. They're normally $32.

Even a few Townsville Crocodiles fans would come at that deal.

But hurry because it is TONIGHT.

I am tipping a United upset but I am not sure why.
