Brad&Boti: Purple rain is falling finely

IT WAS mighty tough for former Sydney Kings captain and my Brad&Boti podcast colleague Brad Rosen last night, watching as 12 parachutists in purple uniforms bailed from the kamikaze plane being piloted in the cockpit by Mahmoud Abdelfattah somewhere over Adelaide.

Fortunately we taped this week's B&B episode before that latest calamity for this Kings team, so Brad was able to stay on point as we reviewed both the WNBL and NBL's latest goings on.

Not that the Sydney Flames are travelling all that brilliantly just now either. It's been a rough patch for Brad - hardly a purple patch - although he is partial to the WNBL's Melbourne Boomers so we can cut him some slack there.

This episode we talked up a storm as we opened 2024 with our first pod of the year impressed with how Melbourne United at the top of the NBL, and Townsville Fire at the head of the WNBL, both are going, for the most part.

We've also kept a weather eye on how Uni of Canberra's Capitals have been surging, along with how those Adelaide 36ers of this latest Scott Ninnis Era also have been making unexpected headway.

The 36ers celebrated the 25th anniversary of their 1999 NBL champion and their presence and the current team wearing those traditional uniforms have made a big difference.

We have our Players of the Week - women and men - along with the round's best moments, before Brad sinks his teeth into a Rosen Rattler and I get my rocks off with a well-timed Nagy Nasty.

We even have time for a shout-out to a "friend of the show".

All this and so much more awaits you just by clicking on this well-placed link. Or, of course, you can go to your usual podcast sources, such as Apple Podcasts for example, if you prefer.

That's up to you. (Or here's your second chance to click our link.)
