Brad&Boti: March, march, march as Ants swarm

IT'S a wrap! The NBL's 2023-24 season has ended in a blaze of glory with Tasmania JackJumpers creating history by beating Melbourne United in Game 5 of the Championship, Brad Rosen and I all over it at our Brad&Boti Podcast where we also bring you the latest player movement news.

And there have been quite a few already with Brisbane Bullets agreeing to release Tokyo Olympian Nathan Sobey to South East Melbourne Phoenix, Sam Mennenga released by Cairns Taipans to join New Zealand Breakers and Kouat Noi retained by Sydney Kings.

(Not 100% sure who the Kings' new coach is ... must ask Brad because he's been an assistant to a big name or two ... or one.)

We do talk NBL Grand Finals 4 and 5, where - just as in the now classic Game 3 - there was a huge turnover in the end-game that threw the final seconds into disarray and high drama.

Game 3's by Matthew Dellavedova opened the door for Jack McVeigh to score the Greatest Shot in NBL History, Game 4's by Sean MacDonald did not allow for Jo Lual-Acuil's athleticism and reach to steal the ball coming from behind Majok Deng.

And Game 5's, again by MacDonald, was unlucky not to be called as a foul on Chris Goulding as he jostled Milton Doyle to intercept the intended lob and open the gate for Dellavedova to throw a wild hope heave that was the very definition of a basketball "Hail Mary".

What a series it was, and we rate it as the greatest five-gamer of all-time.

We have loads of praise for the Jackies, especially coach Scott Roth, McVeigh and hats off to Jordon Crawford for his outstanding Game 5 in the wake of some less-than-stellar performances.

He carried Tassie through the first half, no question.

So, will Sobey, the Warrnambool Whirlwind, be joining his former Adelaide 36ers teammate, the Horsham Hurricane, Mitch Creek, at the Phoenix?

We have a view, and also one on who will win the signature of the highly-sought Will McDowell-White. And what was Bul Kuol doing in Hobart for Game 4?

Brad has a Rosen Rattler, I've got a Nagy Nasty and there's all this and more awaiting you simply by clicking on this very link, or you can head to your traditional podcast sources such as Apple.

We're taking a short break until the Boomers and Opals' teams for the Paris Olympic Games are revealed so it really is a case of Ciao4niao.
