Brad&Boti: The birthday boy is back!

WE'RE back this week after a quick respite while Brad&Boti podcast co-host Brad Rosen recovered from his landmark milestone birthday celebrations. And we're not holding back. Should Adelaide Lightning fire coach Nat Hurst? Are the Perth Wildcats selfish?

You can decide for yourself but those questions do lead to some healthy debate as we pick apart the WNBL and NBL.

Lightning's consistent fade-outs are now almost a team sickness and unless something is done soon to rectify it, it easily could be terminal.

Bendigo continues on its merry way and its top-of-the-table showdown with Perth Lynx should be a highlight of the round.

The Lynx will be missing starter Alex Ciabattoni (getting married) which will be significant.

Also significant are off-court WNBL developments as the league heads toward new and exciting ownership which we discuss, especially in the wake of Australia's inability to capitalise on hosting the FIBA World Cup while soccer's Matildas continue to show the way forward.

Matthew Dellavedova has been one of our frontline best for many years but when Chris Goulding is on the type of tear he's been on with United, you have to keep getting him the ball. Not being a hero.

Talking about heroes, were there any bigger than South East's Owen Foxwell?

If your answer is "yes", there's a guy out west named Bryce Cotton who just went off for 59 points, then fair enough. It was frustrating knowing how close he was first to cracking the magical 60, then of eclipsing the NBL record of 63 set by the late Reg Biddings 43 years ago.

Where were his teammates trying to help him set a new league record? Busy jacking up some terrible and even self-indulgent shots.

Nonetheless Bryce still claimed a 37-year-old Wildcats record, with his 59 breaking the 57 of the great James Crawford.

We have our predictions, top six revisits - some major changes there - and there's still time for a Rosen Rattler and a Nagy Nasty.
