B.O.T.I. hits a decade and what a way to celebrate!

AUGUST 2, 2012 was the first time Basketball On The Internet tentatively sprung into life and today we're celebrating our 10-year anniversary in the best possible way by formally announcing the delivery of my proudest work in the field - "PATTY MILLS - Beyond Basketball" - a tribute to a cultural icon.

Brought to life by Wilkinson Publishing, the book chronicles Patty's life story as it runs parallel and intertwines with the Olympic and World Cup fortunes of the Boomers, the Australian men's national basketball team.

At some point, that convergence leads inexorably to medal success but what an amazing, uplifting and inspirational journey it is to get there.

Ahead of the one-year anniversary (next Sunday) of that magnificent medal success at the Tokyo Olympic Games - an Olympics and a destination so influential in the entire journey - it might be time to pre-order your copy through Wilkinson Publishing by hitting that link.

Those of you who have followed this website across the decade, I can only assure you I took great pride and humility into telling this story, with its many twists and turns.

There is no shortage of surprises and a monumental cast of characters that extends from his major partner in the development of the Boomers' culture Joe Ingles to LaMarcus Aldridge, David Andersen, Chris Anstey, Ash Barty, Aron Baynes, Larry Bird, Andrew Bogut, Mark Bradtke, Brett Brown, Kobe Bryant, Marty Clarke, Stephen Curry, Matty Dellavedova, Luka Doncic, Goran Dragic, Tim Duncan, Dante Exum, Cathy Freeman, Pau Gasol, Andrew Gaze, Josh Giddey, Manu Ginóbili, Brian Goorjian, Chris Goulding, Lauren Jackson, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr, Jock Landale, Luc Longley, Mel McLaughlin, Steve Nash, Brad Newley, Matt Nielsen, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Gregg Popovich, Matisse Thybulle, Andrew Vlahov, Mark Worthington and a holy host of others.

Other than a "who's who" of our sport globally, Patty's early steps into his wider role as an ambassador for Indigenous people in Australia and the world over, the roles of his parents Benny and Yvonne, uncle Danny Morseu and the late Michael Ahmatt, of Eddie Mabo and the many First Nations trail blazers who paved the path, all are examined in detail.

The first of what should be many books and documentaries about Patty Mills, multiple Olympian, NBA champion and cultural icon, is a tribute to a unique and extraordinary sportsman and human being.

It goes on sale very soon. Pre-order now and join us at Basketball On The Internet celebrating a decade online with our proudest achievement.
