THE new WNBL team out of Brisbane to be announced in a couple of hours by Basketball Australia may not, in fact, be known as "the Bombshells".

Just figured, you know, given the "blonde bomber" Shane Heal is involved in the successful license-bidding consortium, it made perfect sense.

That should take the WNBL to nine teams and return an elite presence to SE Queensland at long last.

But while BA is making that announcement, it is still a little too quiet in Adelaide, where various groups working together to reignite Lightning have yet to have anything worthwhile to report in a public forum.

And Bendigo Spirit reputedly are $300,000 in the red, which may go toward clearing up why there are concerns about the coaching and associated player costs. Or not.
