CJ, Bevo lock horns in Brisbane

NBL giants CJ Bruton and Rob Beveridge will coach Queensland's Rising Stars tomorrow night in a fundraiser for the "Still I Rise" Foundation at Carina.

Tip off is 5.30pm - doors open at 5 - and will feature two teams of rising stars coached by the NBL's iconic figures.

Bruton is joint record-holder with David Stiff for NBL Championships, with six - one at Brisbane, two at Sydney and three at New Zealand.

Beveridge coached West Sydney Razorbacks and Sydney Spirit before taking Perth Wildcats to an NBL Championship.

Bruton this year will coach Brisbane Spartans in the SEABL and also has been slated to be on the coaching panel of the new Brisbane Bullets franchise.

Beveridge is one of the men many tipped would hold those reins, making this a sideline showdown of sorts.

Entry is just $5 for adults, with kids free, all funds raised going to the "Still I Raise" Foundation to assist in its most important cause, funding counselling for cancer patients/survivors and their families.

Still I Rise served 128 patients in 2014.  This weekend will help it kick start 2015.

Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis will train the kids tomorrow morning, with Bevo running the rest of the day.

If you live in Brisbane, this is one for you.
