*FLASHBACKS, my irregular "lucky dip" where I just reach into my drawers of old Australian basketball stuff and transcribe or post whatever I find for you.*

IT'S been a big week for the Opals so it was a fun coincidence to reach into the filing cabinet today and stumble upon the day-to-day programs from the 1984 Australian Women's Club Championship.

FLAG INNS was a super supporter of women's basketball in those days and this was a terrific tournament in Melbourne - even if it did throw up two surprise Grand Finalists.

In fact, Victoria did not have a team reach the Final Four, a rarity at a time it was dominating the new WNBL competition. But this one saw three teams from SA and one from Queensland determining the Australian Club Champion.

PS In case you were wondering, Noarlunga City Tigers beat West Adelaide Bearcats 71-67 in the Final.
