FLASHBACK 49: Some golden oldies

*FLASHBACKS, my irregular "lucky dip" where I just reach into my drawers of old Australian basketball stuff and transcribe whatever I find for you.

FOUND a lot of old SA and Vic pics so apologies to folks in other states but in them thar olden days, it was hard enough getting basketball photos, let alone ones from too far interstate.

Anyway, I hope these bring back a few good memories, despite their ordinary quality.

MOUNT NEVEREST: SA's Laurie Harcus outrebounds South Melbourne import Tom Mount.

MOSES AS THE RED SEA PARTS (Part 2): Robyn Maher to the hoop against North.

TUCK SHOPPING: Victoria's Michael Tucker swoops to the hoop against SA.

SHARPSHOOTER: Ann Hanson (Qld) fires over SA pair Ann Somers and Kay Todd.

BOARD ROOM: West's Kym Peacock battles Sturt's Ken Edick for a board, watched by Dean Kinsman.

UNLIKELY: Jane Linton (Tas) tries for a way past Jan Bowman (Vic) and Karin Maar.

EXTRA INCHES: Rick Hodges (Glenelg) snares the rebound from South Adelaide's Lyn Parnell.

SWAN HILL DAYS: Rhonda Koltuniewicz takes this rebound from Jenny Cheesman.

BEST OF... St Kilda's Brian Kerle battles South Melbourne's Robbie Cadee for the ball. In 1979, Cadee the player would reward Kerle, the coach, with a key pass to clinch the inaugural NBL flag.

TOO GOOD: A young Carmel "Tammy" Good.

OOPS. RETIRED: Mick Corkeron wearing the sainted #7 for West Adelaide.

STIRLING GOLD: Jan Stirling puts the heat on Jenny Beha in early WNBL action.

BAM BAM: Legendary ref John Holden hands the ball to St Kilda's Daryl West.

MILLER TIME: West's Deb Miller searches for a pass around North's Michelle Weir.

DON'T ASK ME: Chris Skinner doesn't know where the ball is, and neither does Mark Lampshire (11), or Alan Wheeler and Ken Cole.

TIGERS LAIR: Rachael Sporn, surrounded by Melbourne Tigers.

EAGLE ROCKING: John Wesley fires over Mark Sykes and a distraught Scott Ninnis.

RICKY STEAMING: Ricky Simpson stops on a dime.

HILLS ALIVE: Young Jo Hill drives between Spectres Tracey Browning and Michelle Gubbels.

TURN ABOUT: South Adelaide's Alan Turner looks for the outlet pass.

BULLOCKING: Obviously, James Bullock.

CONTRIBUTION: Brendan Joyce drives on West's Ray Wood, early NBL days.

THE ONE AND ONLY: James Crawford shows how it's done.
