Lightning win preseason clash
TweetMAC Adelaide Lightning tonight inflicted a 76-73 win over Sydney Uni Flames in a WNBL preseason fixture at Port Adelaide recreation Centre.
The Flames fought back after Adelaide seized a 20-9 lead in the first quarter, both teams down their regular coaches who are in Tenerife, Spain as part of the Opals' coaching staff, for the tip-off of the FIBA World Cup for Women tomorrow night.
Adelaide also was missing Aimie Clydesdale and Canadian centre Kayla Alexander, Sydney down Alex Bunton.
Lauren Nicholson (below) and Nicole Seekamp paced Lightning with 17 points apiece, new faces Steph Blicavs and Nia Coffey each with 11.
Centre Lara McSpadden led the Flames with 17 points, Belinda Snell with 11 and Alex Wilson 10.
