Lucas, Pritchard breakfast gold
TweetMAC Adelaide Lightning coach Chris Lucas and Bendigo Spirit coach Simon Pritchard have joined the burgeoning roster for Friday's WNBL Show Grand Final breakfast, adding a golden touch.
Lucas is Australia's most current Gold Medal-winning coach, taking the Emerging Opals to the top of the podium at last year's World University Games in Taipei.
Fellow South Australian Simon Pritchard was one of his assistant coaches, as was another South Aussie, Kristen Veal. (Yes, we love our South Aussie players and coaches here, securing Gold for our country ... shout out to Shannon Seebohm too while I think of it!)
Lucas and Pritchard clashed in the last round of the regular season when Adelaide saw off Bendigo at The Lighthouse, both clubs' WNBL Finals aspirations wrecked by season-ending injuries to key personnel.
As the coach of Townsville for five years for five playoff appearances, four consecutive Grand Finals and two consecutive championships in 2015 and 2016, Lucas will be well-qualified to speak at the WNBL Show Grand Final breakfast and is likely to be grilled by what mostly should be a pro-Melbourne Boomers crowd.
His assistant coach in those championship runs before his return home to rebuild Lightning was current Townsville coach Claudia Brassard, the best-of-3 Grand Final series tipping off on Saturday.

Melbourne station SEN Radio is sponsoring the "Inaugural WNBL Show Grand Final Breakfast" on Friday from 7.30am til 9, at the Emerson Rooftop Bar, 143 Commercial Rd, South Yarra.
Not only will Lucas and Pritchard be there, but also the immortal Lauren Jackson, plus Boomers' centre Liz Cambage, Opals legends Tom and Robyn Maher and Kristi Harrower.
Current players Rachel Jarry, Sara Blicavs and Dandenong Rangers coach Larissa Anderson also will join the party, hosted by Megan Hustwaite.
It's just $50 per person. For more details, go to tracey@gamechangerevents.com.au
