Rd.3 NBL Player of the Week

HOW many great and key defensive plays were there this round, helping decide crucial NBL outcome?

And yet despite all that, despite three more overtimes, two in the one game, it again was an offensive performance which most caught the eye.

There were quite a few of them, Bryce Cotton and Chris Goulding in the double O/T affair in Perth, Melo Trimble with 29 against Sydney, and who can forget Nathan Sobey's triple-double performance for Adelaide in Cairns?

Well we can, apparently.

Because for the team here at Basketball On The Internet, the performance which most stood out belonged to New Zealand's swingman Finn Delany.

All the players already mentioned - other than the injured Goulding - played two games apiece and their other performances weren't quite up to the aforementioned standouts.

Whereas Delany came off the Breakers' bench when they were struggling early to keep pace with Adelaide and had 14 points, including a couple of inspired dunks.

And, having kept up with the 36ers when they were looking close to their best, he again was instrumental as they motored away in the last, when the Sixers were looking gassed.

The ultra-aggressive Delany played 20 minutes (plus loose change), had 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting, with five rebounds and two assists, substantially changing the contest, unanimously winning our Round 3 Player of the Week accolade.
