That WasThe Week That Was: Nov.24-Dec.1

NBL Next Stars star LaMelo Ball started the week by drawing more than 10 million viewers to watch the highlights of his first triple-double in another amazing week chronicled right here at Basketball On The Internet.

Ball had a ball and our Opals also look set now to complete their qualification for the Tokyo Olympics. It was all here, so in case you missed something, this is how we saw the week.

The Adelaide 36ers had their big guns firing today as they took out the Wildcats in Perth for an important NBL road win.

The Southside Flyers were too good for Adelaide Lightning in a quality WNBL thriller, Mercedes Russell the difference maker.

Import Kathryn Westbeld and Lightning warrior Laura Hodges were set to hit the WNBL court for the first time on Sunday when Adelaide hosted Southside.

The road to Tokyo is now clear for Australia's Opals and it's a much easier path than the one for NZ's Tall Blacks.

Our weekly predictions were delivered with all due humility right here. (And this round we had a sweep of the WNBL matches.)

Our NBL and WNBL rankings were rather sedate this week, with no great movement in either the NBL or WNBL standings. But hey, Guess the Player stumped a few smarties this time around.

Basketball Australia joined the real world to reveal what we all knew a week ago, that Andrej Lemanis was stepping down as Boomers coach and Brett Brown has the reins for the Tokyo Olympics.

Brad Rosen and I were at it again, this time dissecting the Boomers' coaching moves, along with all things NBL and WNBL here.

Rarely, if ever, was it easier to select our NBL Player of the Week. No, seriously. This guy was just flat-out ballin'.

Our wrap up of an absolutely thrilling NBL round appeared  here, with LaMelo Ball standing out but a few surprise results - unless you followed our NBL tips which would have given you 6-0.

It was a tough round for WNBL Player of the Week candidates but two stellar showings by the diminutive dynamite that is Lindsay Allen settled the issue.

And that was how we saw the week.
