The Week That Was: Jan.26-Feb.2

THIS past week started sadly and it got worse before it pulled out of it at the weekend so if you missed something, double-check now with our look back over the past seven days.

That's a wrap for the WNBL regular season.

Marina Wood (nee Moffa) is bound for the Basketball SA Hall of Fame.

The Breakers have packed the 36ers' season into mothballs.

Disaster for Lightning as captain Nicole Seekamp goes down to a serious ankle injury in Round 16.

The Kings will finish top of the NBL table now but there's plenty of ball to go. Here are the NBL and WNBL tips of the week.

Dr Werner Linde is being elevated to Legend status at the Basketball SA Hall of Fame ceremony.

Those defending champions, the Wildcats and the Capitals are back at the top of our Rankings this week.

Brad Rosen and I covered the impact of the sport's tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and all things WNBL and NBL in this week's podcast.

Mike Dancis, the original giant of South Australian men's basketball, has passed away, aged 80.

North Adelaide and SA Great Kay McFarlane, a women's coaching pioneer and national player in her own right, is being inducted into the Basketball SA Hall of Fame.

It's no coincidence the Brisbane Bullets' NBL playoffs drive and Lamar Patterson's form have been peaking, making him our NBL Player of the Week.

Southside Flyers' Bec Cole was our WNBL Player of the Week for Round 15.

The week could not have started more sadly with the sudden death of basketball megastar Kobe Bryant, his daughter and seven others in a helicopter crash.
