Why having no onions makes me cry

HARD to believe but the BSA will be doing it, yet again, this weekend.

What exactly is the "it'' to which the association again will be party?

Allowing the same two clubs to play finals matches at the same time in different arenas.

This time it is Norwood and Forestville fans needlessly being inconvenienced because BSA has neither the wherewithall or desire to make any waves by stepping in and deciding the clubs jointly should play at Adelaide Arena.

Instead of a double-header, we shall have the farcical situation of Norwood hosting Forestville at MARS for the women's preliminary final on Saturday at 6.30pm while Forestville hosts Norwood at Wayville at 6.30pm for the men's preliminary final.

Ridiculous?

For sure.

Typical of our administrative efficiency?

Yep.

Yes, yes. They play all season for the right to "home court advantage'' but seriously, is it THAT much of an advantage that you'd rather disadvantage the entire supporter group of two clubs?

I mean, it's not as if Forestville has its home games at Mt Isa and Norwood has its games in Darwin.

In that type scenario, invoking the home-game advantage makes sense.

But it's Adelaide.

And what could be wrong with playing in the venue where the Grand Finals will be held a week later?

But BSA having the onions to step in and take charge of its own "elite'' competition?

Forget it.

In the semi final round last weekend, Norwood's women played North at MARS while North's men were playing Norwood's at Hillcrest.

Just by the way, both the teams playing on their home court LOST, reinforcing what a mockery home-court advantage is in what is essentially a metropolitan competition.

As I already mentioned (in http://www.botinagy.com/blog/plenty-of-talking-heads-but-were-on-a-road-to-no-where/ ) the women's qualifying final between North and Forestville at Hillcrest was happening while the men's qualifying final between Forestville and North was on at Wayville.

Again and repeatedly, the BSA shows absolutely ZERO regard for any fan base its clubs may have because, clearly, it doesn't give a damn.

Inconveniencing itself or being pro-active are not the tenets on which this association runs.

As a wise woman once said: "The problem with common sense is that it's not very common''.
