WNBL Player of the Week: Lozza!!

OMG! How many WNBL stars put their hand up in Round 9 for Player of the Week candidacy, led by the "Comeback Queen" Marianna Tolo in Canberra.

Tolo played 21 mninutes in her return game from an ACL and plundered Bendigo to the tune of a game-high 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting, with four defensive rebounds, an assist and two blocks.

In anything but a blow-out, Tolo may have won the nod.

Asia Taylor led Perth with 33 points in its win over Bendigo but was overshadowed in the Lynx's road loss to Dandenong by Kayla Pedersen's 21-point, 11-rebound haul.

And Tahlia Tupaea was magnificent, especially in the end-game when Sydney stunned Melbourne in Melbourne.

Unfortunately though, she was less effective as Adelaide took down the Flames earlier in the round, Nicole Seekamp and Lauren Nicholson putting their stamps on the game.

Nicholson, a championship winner with Sydney, enjoyed her Lightning career-high of 26 points against the Flames, then backed that up with 23 against Townsville.

To average 24.5 points over the round and at 58 percent was pretty good. But she also connected on 7-of-11 threes at 64 percent, with 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals.

That set Lozza aside as our unanimous selection for Player of the Week.
